A delightful little place 650 km east of Mauritius, lost in the middle of the Indian Ocean, Rodrigues covers 108 square kilometres shared by a population of 43.000 and some 80.000 tourists p.a.
It is of volcanic origin and is surrounded by coral reef, and just off its coast lie some tiny uninhabited islets.
Save for some tourism, small scale agricultural, fishing and artisanal activities the island’s economy and supplies depend entirely on Mauritius.
ROD'eau … mitigates the island’s persistent water shortage;
ROD'eau … alleviates its chronic water distribution disaster;
ROD'eau … offers a high quality, pure and healthy alternative to sub-standard piped drinking water;
ROD'eau … eliminates unwarranted cost by substituting local production to imports, and
ROD'eau … helps reducing CO2 emission in water production and road and maritime logistics.
ROD'eau is creating in the island a solar-powered atmospheric water generation plant to produce, bottle and distribute 10,000 litres of drinking water per day using 100% carbon-free energy, processes and materials.
To support the island’s “green” ambition, water produced by ROD'eau is sold in reusable glass bottles and distributed by electric vehicles to the doorsteps of the island’s households.

A Foundation, because entreprise is not ownership but responibility. Business efforts must become more sustainable and responsible to turn the tide on social inequity and environmental decay. Net Positive is our way of entrepreneuring which puts back more into society, the environment and the global economy than we have taken out. It increases consumer awareness which in turn will lead to enhanced business innovation, brand reputation, stakeholder relations, and sales. The Rodrigues Foundation is in the process of being incorporated in Mauritius.
